Serving the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont
The Newport Area Community Orchestra is a community based orchestra dedicated to the Northeast Kingdom and the surrounding communities. The orchestra is dedicated to quality performances in a setting that provides an educational and cultural relationship between musicians and audience. In addition, NACO's mission is to foster excellence and innovation in the arts within the community, as well as a sense of pride and accomplishment. It serves the student communities of North Country Union High School, Lake Region Union High School, North Country Junior High School, and Stanstead College. Students are encouraged to join the orchestra, including strings, woodwinds, percussion, and brass. NACO presents four annual concerts, two in the fall and two in the spring. The orchestras smaller ensembles also perform at other local venues during the year.
